Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember(ITS) Visits NTNU

On September 5 2019, our partner Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember visited to NTNU. Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) is an Indonesian public technological university located in Surabaya, East Java, with a strong emphasis on scientific and engineering. In 2017, ITS was ranked 5th as the best university in Indonesia by the Republic of Indonesia Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (RISTEKDIKTI). In the same year, ITS has become partner school with NTNU. Academic cooperation between ITS and NTNU increases rapidly.


This time, Mr. Mariyanto, S.Si., M.T., Lecture of Geophysics Engineering Department; Ms. Iska Desmawati, S.Si., M.Si., Lecture of Biology Department; Ms. Noor Nailis Sa'adah, M.Sc., Lecture of Biology Department; Ms. Rosalita Julian Puspitasari, Staff of Computer Engineering Department; Mr. Dihein Reksa Ikmaluhakim, S.T., Staff of Geophysics Engineering Department, and 10 undergraduate students from ITS visited NTNU. Our Prof. Hsiang-Lin LIU, Vice President for International Affairs, gave them a warm welcome, followed by a discussion on international master/doctoral program, scholarship information and potential cooperation opportunities with Earth Sciences Department Professor Ms. Hui-Hsuan CHEN, Assistant Professor Mr. Yu-Ming LAI, Assistant Professor Ms. Pei-Ying LIN; Life Science School Professor Mr. Chung-Ping LIN, Associate Professor Ms. Yun-Ju LAI; Computer Science and Information Engineering Department Assistant Professor Mr. Ko-Chih WANG.


Besides discussion among teachers, OIA also organized some activities for ITS students. Firstly, for a better understanding of NTNU history and interest points of facilities, we organized a campus walking tour led by our student ambassadors. Then, our International Youth presented a game-based Learning event to inspire ITS students’interest and create novelty experience for them. Through this visit, we not only have enhanced cooperation and relationship between ITS and NTNU, but also hope ITS students would like to study at NTNU in the near future.
