1. NTNU Graduate Student Scholarships

Eligibility:
First-year international graduate students who are not currently receiving any other scholarships from organizations within Taiwan.

Amounts awarded:
Amounts awarded:
-Master program: a stipend of NT$15,000 per month for 12 months.
-Ph.D. program: For the first year, the stipend is NT$15,000 per month. For the second year, the stipend is NT$10,000 per month. To continue receiving a stipend for the 2nd year, both of the following conditions must be met: (a) you must receive matching funds of at least NT$5,000 per month offered by either your department or your academic advisor(s) and (b) have taken a minimum of 12 credits.

How to apply:
Apply for this scholarship while applying to the university (for degree-seeking students): check the appropriate box for this scholarship during the on-line application process. The application deadline for this scholarship is the same as the deadline for applying to the university. The deadline date is posted each year in the prospectus. Second year Ph.D. students must hand in the following items 2 weeks before the start of the semester: (a) proof of matching funds offered by your department or academic advisor(s); (b) transcripts for the previous semester.

How applications are evaluated: Each department determines which of their students will receive a scholarship or tuition waiver. It is the department's responsibility to submit a list of award recipients and their application forms as well as any other relevant documents to the Office of International Affairs.

*NOTE:
Scholarships may be revoked, stopping all further payments for any of the following reasons:
(a) failure to register for classes;
(b) dropping out of or being expelled from school;
(c) engaging in inappropriate behavior.

2.Scholarships for Undergraduate Students, NTNU

Eligibility:
A. Degree-seeking international students who have been admitted to the university are in their first year of study, and are not currently receiving any other Taiwanese scholarships are eligible to apply.
B. New students are favored during the selection process. Students who are currently enrolled and have come into financial difficulties must provide proof of their financial situation.

Amounts awarded:
NT$10,000 per month per recipient.

Award period:
12 months. Award payments are discontinued if the recipient takes a leave of absence or withdraws from the university.

Apply for this scholarship while applying to the university (for degree-seeking students): check the appropriate box for this scholarship during the on-line application process. The application deadline for this scholarship is the same as the deadline for applying to the university. The deadline date is posted each year in the prospectus.

3. Tuition Waiver Program for International Students, NTNU

Eligibility:
A. Degree-seeking international students who have been admitted to the university who are not currently receiving any other scholarships.
B. New students are favored during the selection process. Students who are currently enrolled and have come into financial difficulties must provide proof of their financial situation.

Types of scholarships issued:
A. Undergraduate students will receive a tuition waiver for their tuition, but are still required to pay their Misc. Fee.
B. Graduate students will receive a tuition waiver for baseline tuition, but are still required to pay their average credit fees.

Apply for this scholarship while applying to the university (for degree-seeking students): check the appropriate box for this scholarship during the on-line application process. The application deadline for this scholarship is the same as the deadline for applying to the university. The deadline date is posted each year in the prospectus.

4. Taiwan Scholarship

MOE (Ministry of Education) Taiwan Scholarship

Amounts awarded:
-Undergraduate program: a stipend of NT$15,000 per month plus partial tuition is waived; maximum of 4 years.
-Master's program: a stipend of NT$20,000 per month plus partial tuition is waived; maximum of 2 years.
-Ph.D. program: a stipend of NT$20,000 per month plus partial tuition is waived; maximum of 4 years.

*NOTE:
--For recipients enroll from 2016/2017 academic year, the cap on tuition waiver is TWD 40,000. The rest of the amount not covered by the Scholarship should be borne by the recipients.
--Scholarship recipients must register each semester before receiving any scholarship payments. If you take an extended leave of absence during the semester, you will have to pay back your basic tuition.

Application period:
February 1st until the end of March.

MOFA (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) Taiwan Scholarship

Amounts awarded:
-Undergraduate program: a stipend of NT$25,000 per month; maximum of 4 years.
-Master's program: a stipend of NT$30,000 per month; maximum of 2 years.
-Ph.D. program: a stipend of NT$30,000 per month; maximum of 4 years.

*NOTE:
Scholarship recipients must first register each semester before receiving any scholarship payments. If you take an extended leave of absence during the semester, you will have to pay back your scholarships.

Application period:
February 1st until the end of March

5. Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund Higher Education Scholarship Program (TaiwanICDF Scholarship)


(Only for applicants of Graduate Institute of International Human Resource Development )

Step 1
◇ Visit TaiwanICDF Website http://www.icdf.org.tw/TSP/Welcome.aspx
◇ Complete online application form, print it out and sign it.

Step 2
◇ Complete the requested scholarship documents in the following website by TaiwanICDF. http://www.icdf.org.tw/ct.asp?xItem=12507&CtNode=30318&mp=2
◇ Submit the documents listed in the website to the ROC (Taiwan) Embassy/ Consulate (General)/ Representative Office/ Taiwan Technical Mission or project representative in your country before March.
◇ Complete online application form, print it out and sign it.

Step 3
◇ Download the Admission Prospectus for International Students from “Related downloads” in http://ap.itc.ntnu.edu.tw/istudent/apply/
◇ Read the prospectus carefully and you will know what application materials should be submitted before the deadline of application to NTNU OIA with what specific requests.
◇ Complete online application form http://ap.itc.ntnu.edu.tw/istudent/apply/AP303.jsp
◇ Application materials must either be mailed or delivered in-person to OIA NTNU by the deadline.
◇ ICDF scholarship applicants don’t have to pay application fee.
