Following its recognition by the Ministry of Education in 2024 and its designation as a bilingual benchmark university, National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) has set another record. According to Ministry of Education statistics for the 2024 academic year, international degree-seeking students make up 12.05% of NTNU’s total student population—the highest proportion among Taiwan’s top national universities. [ more ]

NTNU President Cheng-Chi Wu led a delegation to the United Kingdom on January 15-23, 2025 to meet with four British universities in the world’s top 100, and expand cooperation with NTNU’s UK partners.  The 2025 Asia-Pacific Association for International Education Conference was held from March 24 to 28 in New Delhi, India. Using observations from 2017 and 2018, the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) Collaboration has deepened our understanding of the supermassive black hole at the center of Messier 87 (M87*). This study opens a new window into multi-year analysis at horizon scales by leveraging a new simulation image library with more than 120,000 additional images compared to the last one. [ more ]

Virtual Reality (VR) has emerged as an innovative technology across various industries, and has proven to be a valuable tool in education, offering students an entirely new sensory experience. Professor Yu-Shan Chang from the Department of Technology Application and Human Resource Development at National Taiwan Normal University has found that VR provides students with immersive contextual experiences, enhances their spatial and three-dimensional conceptualization, and facilitates the design of user-centered blueprints. [ more ]
