Chair Prof. Liu Kuo Sung Becomes Member of American Academy
劉國松講座教授榮膺美國文理科學院院士

Liu, now 84, is universally honored as the earliest and most important advocate of modernist Chinese painting. As a chair professor in NTNU and an alumnus from the Department of Fine Arts, he is the first Taiwanese member in the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the first Chinese painter that receive this honor. On October 14th, he came back to Wen Huei Hall, NTNU for the celebration ceremony. President Chang commended him for the honor and NTM Director Mr. Chen Jimin came with greeting.[ more ]

被譽為現代水墨畫之父、現任國立臺灣師範大學劉國松講座教授、傑出校友,2016年10月當選美國文理科學院院士,為臺灣首位在藝術與人文科學領域的院士,也是第一位華人畫家獲得如此殊榮者。他10月14日回到師大文薈廳參與慶祝儀式,由張國恩校長表彰其獲此殊榮,將臺灣文化名揚海外,文化部主秘陳濟民也到場表達恭賀。 慶祝儀式上,前政務委員、師大美術系名譽教授黃光男、副校長鄭志富、前藝術學院院長李振明、黃進龍、科技與工程學院院長程金保及跟隨劉老師多年的門生及朋友齊聚一堂。由李振明前院長唸頌詞。[ more ]


Chair Prof. Ovid J.L. Tzeng Become Member of European Academy of Sciences and Arts
心輔系講座教授曾志朗 獲選歐洲科學與藝術學院醫學組院士

On December 7, 2016, Chair Professor Ovid J.L. Tzeng received a formal letter from Prof. Dr. H. C. Felix Unger, President of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, to inform him of his election as Member of this august body. President Unger also invited Board Member Tzeng to journey to Salzburg in March 2017 in order to receive a medal honoring this achievement, as well as devote future efforts to the causes of promoting the Academy’s new NEXT EUROPE project and the Alma Mater Europaea program dedicated to cultivating young talent. Prof. Tzeng has dedicated himself to the support of scholarship in the European Region. The Foundation is deeply proud of his outstanding achievements.[ more ]

國立臺灣師範大學教育心理與輔導學系講座教授、中央研究院院士曾志朗日前接獲歐洲科學與藝術學院(European Academy of Sciences and Arts)院長、創辦人之一翁格爾(H. C. Felix Unger)醫生的正式信函,恭喜他獲選為歐洲科學與藝術學院醫學組院士,邀請他於明年三月前往薩爾茲堡接受院士勳章,並能為該學院的最新計畫「歐洲的未來」(NEXT EUROPE)以及該學院為培育年輕世代所設立的「歐洲的母校」(Alma Mater Europaea)貢獻所長。他以無給職兼任榮譽講座教授帶領臺師大和美國賓州州立大學合作,發展認知神經科學與教育結合的研究,深獲肯定。[ more ]


Prof. Hsieh Chih Mou, first Non-American receiving AEE Michael Stratton Practitioner’s Award
非美籍第一人 美國將「體驗教育」最高榮譽頒予臺師大謝智謀

Hsieh Chih Mou is the first non-American that received the AEE Michael Stratton Practitioner’s Award in 30 years. Prof. Hsieh shared with us his stories of leading the students to raise funds to build schools in Nepal, India and northern Thailand and the audience was so touched that they clapped for 2 minutes after his speech. Associate Professor Hsieh from the Department of Civic Education and Leadership once got the excellent educator award by the Minister of Education. He was really surprised when receiving the call that told him winning the award and he still doesn’t know who nominated him. At the beginning, he didn’t want to show up, but after knowing that this is a really rare opportunity to become the first non-American that receives this award, he went to the ceremony. He was give 40 minutes on stage, and everyone was impressed by his stories and stood up clapping![ more ]

從杜威就開始談「體驗教育」的美國,今年卻願意把體驗教育工作者的最高榮譽-「美國體驗教育-實踐家獎」頒給來自臺灣的師大學者謝智謀,謝智謀成為這個獎項設立30年來第一位非美籍的得獎人士!領獎時他分享了帶學生登喜馬拉雅山、到尼泊爾、印度、泰北募款蓋學校的故事,與會人士聽完演講,起立鼓掌持續長達2分鐘之久。 曾獲頒教育部全國優良教育人員的師大公民教育與活動領導學系副教授謝智謀,得獎對於他,是額外的肯定,卻不是追尋的目標,接到通知獲獎電話時,他還很詫異,至今仍不知誰提名他,本來婉拒出席領獎,後來才得知這獎項獲得之不易。大會特別給予這位非美籍人士40分鐘的短講時間,他分享後,全場都起立鼓掌了![ more ]


Collaborating with U. of British Columbia on Academic Leadership Development
師大雁行營登場 開創學術領導新里程

National Taiwan Normal University and the University of British Columbia have worked together for the program for academic leaders in higher education. The first event, the Flying Geese Camp: Academic Leadership Development Program has made its debut on September 23rd and 24th. This is the brand new event designed for new academic leaders. The name of the event in Chinese, Flying Geese Camp, is derived from the flying-geese model. Geese has to fly long distances every year, when every goose flap their wings together and fly in v shaped formation, they can help each other and save energy. When the leading geese feels tires, other geese can be the lead. We hope that through this event, attendants can learn from each other, which is a positive thing for the development of the department.[ more ]

Workshop on online education from PSU and NTNU
賓州州大與師大共同工作坊 深論網路校園議題

The professors and faculties of Pennsylvania State University visited NTNU on November 7th and had a lovely discussion with their counterparts. On November 14th to 16th, a three day workshop was held, focusing on-line university and digital courses. In addition to Vice President Wu, Vice President Sung Yao Ting, Dean of Academic Affairs, Chen Chao Chen, University Librarian Ke Hao Ren, Dean of NTNU Extension Director from the Information Technology Center Chang Chun Fa and other Professors and faculties from MTC, Department of Applied Chinese came to this workshop. At the beginning, Vice President Wu Cheng Chi greeted Renata Engel, Karen Pollack, Laurence B. Boggess, Karen Paulson and hoped that the workshop can be held smoothly and more exchange activities in the future.[ more ]

11月7日姐妹校賓州州大率團參訪師大,2校副校長、學生事務主管相談甚歡,隨後11月14日至16日,2校更共同舉辦了為期3天的工作坊,主要針對網路大學、數位課程等新穎教學議題進行深度交流。 工作坊由師大副校長吳正己開頭,向賓州州大參與工作坊的師長Renata Engel、Karen Pollack、 Laurence B. Boggess 、Karen Paulson表示歡迎,期望2校在數位課程有更多交流,並預祝工作坊圓滿成功。[ more ]


Research Find Possible Cure to Dialysis Patient
師大跨校研發藥物 降低洗腎風險

Taiwan is known as the 'Kingdom of Dialysis for many years and the population of dialysis patient has surpassed 80,000 in 2015. The genetic disease Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease accounts for 5 to 10% among dialysis patients but there’s no cure for it. The project led by National Taiwan Normal University and National Applied Research Laboratories and National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) might provide a critical first step to cures for polycystic kidney disease or similar conditions, researchers said. The recombinant protein drugs was injected into mice with polycystic kidney disease and it’s confirmed that the protein is effective. The life of the mice extended from 25 days to 170 days. The whole research process took 13 years and the next stage will be treatment experiments in preclinical polycystic kidney disease on rats with a view to start the human clinical trials as soon as possible.[ more ]

臺灣被稱為「洗腎王國」,多年來揮之不去,2015年洗腎人口突破8萬人,健保支出高達454億元,其中遺傳性疾病「多囊腎病變」導致慢性腎衰竭,約佔洗腎患者的5至10%,卻無藥可醫。在國立臺灣師範大學、國家實驗研究院國家動物中心及成功大學合作下,研發重組的蛋白質藥物,注射至多囊腎疾病鼠體內,證實有效減緩疾病惡化,壽命也從原本25天延長為170天。整個研究歷程耗時13年,下階段將進行臨床前多囊腎疾病大鼠模式的治療實驗,以期盡快進入人體臨床試驗,為治療多囊腎病變帶來曙光。[ more ]


Yen Chun Chieh led 6 students and won 6 awards in Japan
音樂系嚴俊傑率學生 日本鋼琴賽奪6大獎

Full time Assistant Professor of Music Department, Yen Chun Chieh, led six young pianists to Japan for the 5th International Young Pianist Competition and won six top prizes with 720,000 Japanese yen. Six of his students won the top prize in Japane. Lu Kuan Ting won the first prize of the open group and grabbed 500,000 yen, Lin Chuen Yu got the first prize at the youth group, Yeh Chen Hsun won the top prize at the children’s group. Liang Yung Huei and Hsu Chin Tung won the second and third prize at the youth group. Chen Yo Lin was ranked number three.[ more ]

國立臺灣師範大學音樂系助理教授嚴俊傑率領師大音樂系學生林純宇、徐敬彤等六位年輕鋼琴家,赴日本參加Hamamatsu第五屆國際青少年鋼琴家比賽獲六項大獎,共奪72萬元日幣。 鋼琴家嚴俊傑10月5日在臉書分享指出,他有六位學生在日得獎,包括公開組呂冠葶獲得第一名50萬日幣獎金,青年組林純宇獲得第一名20萬日幣獎金,兒童組葉承勳獲得第一名2萬日幣獎金,梁詠惠、徐敬彤分別獲得青年組2,3名,陳宥霖獲得兒童組第三名。[ more ]
